Suomenlinna is hands-down my favorite place (to shoot or just hang out) in Helsinki, so when Anna asked if I was available to shoot their wedding portraits there, I couldn’t say no.

As much as I love Suomenlinna in the summertime, though, there was one thing I was worried about: the harsh sunlight. Since portraits were schedule to start at 1:30pm on a sunny day in July, I was expecting harsh light all around, making intimate, moody pictures impossible. HOWEVER, just as we were starting to shoot a miracle occurred: a thick fog rolled in. Incredible. Amazing. I’ve never seen anything like it. The fog dissipated 45 minutes later, when we were done with portraits. I’m sure this is the first of many blessings for this marriage.
